As a kid, I always dreamed of being in a magical place that felt like a fairytale. I was certain I would never find one, but as they say: never say never! I discovered it as an adult, and honestly, lucky my kids for having a mother like me who finds these spots.
By pure coincidence, I discovered RASIGLIA—a magical place where crystal-clear streams flow between ancient stone houses, replacing roads with waterfalls. This tiny medieval gem in Umbria is often called the ‘Little Venice’ of the hills, and it truly looks like a living nativity scene.”

The “Must-Know”
Parking: we did not to drive into the village.( as a There is a large parking area along the main road (SR221). From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk.
Strollers: Leave them in the car! The village is full of narrow stone paths, bridges, and stairs. Use a baby carrier or a hiking backpack for the little ones.
Timing: Arrive before 10:00 AM. After that, the narrow streets get crowded, and the “magic” disappears.

How to get there without a car: Take a train to Foligno Station. From there, you can catch a local bus (Line E402) that leads directly to Rasiglia. It takes about 25-30 minutes. Just check the schedule on the Busitalia website, as runs are less frequent on Sundays!
Can you touch the water?
Yes! The water flows in open stone channels throughout the village and it is incredibly clear.
Dipping feet: You can find some spots where the water is shallow and calm enough to dip feet, but be warned: the water is freezing! It comes straight from the source (Sorgente Capovena) and stays around 10°C all year round.
